About this Travelogue
This journal chronicled my cross country Amtrak trip, which took place between July 28 and August 10, 2007. On this trip, I traveled from Washington, DC to Vancouver, BC, Canada by Amtrak and then flew back home via San Francisco, taking 3 different Amtrak trains (Capitol Limited, Empire Builder, Cascades), 1 Amtrak Thruway bus connection and 2 airplanes. The trip covered an approximate distance of 5825 miles (as the bird flies), went through 15 states, the District of Columbia, and one Canadian province, took me on board 9 local transit systems and commuter rail systems, and 4 baseball stadiums.
Over the course of the trip, I posted to this travelogue as I was able to share my experiences and photos with family and friends. I invite anyone who comes across this page to read it, and do feel free to email me at oren@orenstransitpage.com if you have any questions or comments. Additionally, a small sample of the photos that I took on the trip appear on this travelogue. Many more photos from this trip, and my other travels, appear on my website, Oren’s Transit Page.
